Henry and Keely enjoy the afternoon on Assateague Island, MD
We left this morning for our trip to the eastern shore for Larry and Kelly’s wedding, which takes place tomorrow afternoon. We decided to take a trip to Assateague Island before checking into our hotel in Ocean City.
This was Henry’s first time visiting the ocean.
All on Keely’s mind was getting her suit on, and playing in the water, while Henry was more fascinated with the sand.
Keely spent the afternoon in the water and building a sand castle, while Henry did venture into the water a few times, he spent most of his time walking up and down the beach and sitting down lifting sand and letting it sift through his fingers.
On a side note, I am posting this entry while sitting next to the balcony in our hotel room, overlooking a small private beach and the Chesapeake Bay.

Daisy (left) and Blossom (right), the newest additions to the family.
Our family is growing — growing with the addition of two new Guinea Pigs, Daisy and Blossom. These two new critters are Keely’s pets. I sure hope these two ladies like to be grabbed and hauled around the house, for that is the modus operadi of Keely.
The cage is made from grids that are designed to make cubes to hold books, etc., but we use them to make a pen, and placed cloraplast (the stuff election signs are made of) inside. The cage also has a second story that the critters access with a ramp.

George travels down the slip and slide and barely misses Henry who is fasinated by the spray of water. / July 10, 2008
The neighborhood kids came by this evening for some water fun with the Slip-n-Slide. Henry has yet to work up the courage to try it, so he decided to just watch up close and from all locations around the slip-n-slide. Not sure how he managed to elude all the other kids, but he managed to survive untouched, only getting splashed occasionally.
On the down side, Keely landed hard on her leg and got a large bruise and didn’t get to participate as long. She shook off the injury and returned to get a few slides in before Linda made hot chocolate for them all to enjoy in the backyard.

Today was my 9/80 Friday and also Keely’s last day of her two week swimming class, so I was able to attend and take a few pictures. The class has learned to put their faces in the water, swim the forward crawl, tread water, jump off the side of the pool, and some of the brave, off the diving board.
